Step away from the hectic chaos and congested streets of the city and into the pristine paradise of Raja Ampat in Indonesia. In the West Papua Province, Raja Ampat offers a wealth of captivating sights, welcoming people, and exceptional adventures.
For underwater enthusiasts, Raja Ampat definitely offers some of the world’s most supreme experiences. The territory within the islands covers 9.8 million acres of land and sea, and is home to 540 types of corals, more than 1,000 types of coral fish and 700 types of mollusks. The diversity of the region is a dream come true for scuba divers and snorkelers.
Our 7 Day South Raja Ampat Expedition allows the opportunity to take in the wonders of the region aboard a luxurious yacht, while dining on the finest cuisine.
Day 1: Travel by Boat
Upon arrival in Sorong, board your choice of luxurious yacht and get settled into your high-end room. Relax on board as the crew sets sail for the lush, tropical Batanta Island, where you can swim or snorkel with manta rays in crystal-clear water.
Day 2: Enjoy the views
The following day, you’ll awake to spectacular views of Daram Island, fringed by one of the most glorious reefs in all of Raja Ampat. Daram is the eastern-most island of Misool and features long, uninhabited beaches that make ideal nesting sites for endangered green and hawksbill turtles. Enjoy an exquisite dinner before setting sail for the Boo Islands at sunset.
Day 3: Take photos
Awake to more incredible views from your anchorage just off the tiny islands of Boo. After breakfast you have the opportunity to dive iconic Boo Rocks. These rocks take their name from the two swim-through windows just below the surface of the water. The reef is home to soft corals and thrives with schools of colorful fish such as pinnate batfish and yellow striped grunts. Due to its unique appearance, this iconic site is a favorite among many underwater photographers.
Day 4 : Experience underwater
Your fourth day takes you to the breathtaking underwater formation of Four Kings. This site is made up of four huge pillars reaching up from the seabed and entirely covered in beautiful corals. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to see some of the most unique marine life and captivating landscapes here.
Day 5: Another day underwater
Batang Pele Island sets the scene for another dramatic day of diving at sites such as Kaleidoscope and Blue Hole surrounded by flourishing reef. These pristine dive sites offer bursting colors of soft corals and schools of fishes. You will see that both sides of the ridges are covered with elephant ear sponges and upon closer inspection of the area, you may even stumble upon a Wobbegong shark.
Day 6: Explore the Island
After breakfast, the crew will pick up your local guide from Misool Island and bring you to Tomolol Cave – an enormous, partly submerged dome-shaped cavern crowned with giant stalactites. The cave in Misool Island allows travelers to swim, snorkel or simply float while gazing up at the astonishing stalactites of the huge cavern. If you’re feeling brave, you can take a paddle through the dark waters of the cave where you may witness skull cairns and prehistoric ‘petroglyph’ cave paintings, estimated to be up to 5,000 years old.
Day 7: Travel by boat
As you arrive back to Sorong, you’ll enjoy a final breakfast onboard and say farewell to the crew before being escorted by your Cruise Director to Domine Eduard Osok Airport for your flight home.
